Forget the lie, we actually DO have time in abundance!

Are you tired of feeling pressed for time and like there's never enough?

Hear this Biblical truth and start a mindset shift.

I know. Telling you that we have time in abundance feels like fighting words, doesn't it?!

Believe me, I feel the strain, too. I'm sitting here typing on a tab that's been open on my computer for 3 days straight! But, hear me out...pretty please???

How many times have we each said these words:

"Can I have just one more hour in the day?"

"I don't have enough time to get this done!"

"I don't have time for that right now."

Oh, maybe about a million times, right? At one point, I found I was saying and thinking those things pretty much all the time. GOD laid it on my heart that I was using a scarcity mindset and GOD was all about creating ABUNDANCE--even with my time!

Feeling hectic, rushed for time, always rushing around--it's no way to live! For me, it leads to being short tempered with my family, neglecting important relationships, and poor physical and mental health.

A couple of Biblical truths

1. GOD created the day and the night. And GOD called them good. (Genesis 1)

2. GOD gave us work to do. We are set as stewards of creation and any blessings that we are granted. (Genesis 2:15)

3. We are to rest. (Exodus 20:8-11)

4. We are not to worry. (Matthew 6:25-34)

5. We have a GOD that gives abundantly. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

So, now what? How do we make these Biblical truths line up with our real lives?

I started off by printing the verse I referenced from Corinthians EVERYWHERE in my house. On the bathroom mirror, my closet door, the kitchen cabinet, the laundry room...you get the picture! Every time I started to get that tense, rushed feeling, I would take some breaths and focus on the verse.

These are some helpful questions to get you started thinking:

What does GOD want me to SHARE ABUNDANTLY?

What special gifts do I have and how does GOD usually call me to serve?

Where am I choosing to spend time that detracts from my purpose?

What tasks might be time wasters?

Just because something is a good choice for someone else, doesn't mean it's a good choice for me.

You will find, as I did, that all of this prayer, thinking, and intention, will lead you to make different decisions about how you're spending your time. You'll start to let go of unreasonable expectations you have for yourself. You'll start to pass on the tasks that take you away from your areas of service.

If scarcity around time is a struggle for you too, I encourage you to take it to prayer and consider how you can change to an abundant mindset with time.

Abundance in time means...

Learning how to say NO.

Choosing grace over perfection.

Valuing people over profits.

Identifying your priorities and setting boundaries around them.
